Scour (“Scour”, “we”, “us”) is an iOS app that lets you save restaurants you discover on TikTok and Instagram, organize them, and revisit or share them later. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Scour uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. Depending on the choice you make when signing in, we receive your name and either your real email address or an Apple-generated private relay address. We do not have access to your Apple ID password.
We store what you actively save or write in the app: the video links you share into Scour, any notes you add, whether a place is marked as visited, and the names of any “stacks” (collections) you create.
When a saved video is matched to a real restaurant, we store details about that place - name, address, coordinates, a representative photo, and opening hours - sourced from Google Places. This is information about the place, not about you.
Scour does not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not access your contacts, photo library, or location without your explicit action.
We use the information above to operate the app’s core features: showing your saved places, resolving a shared video to a real restaurant, displaying opening hours and photos, and letting you organize and revisit what you’ve saved. We also use your contact information to respond if you reach out to us.
Crowd-sourced matches. When you or another user matches a video to a restaurant, that match (the video and the restaurant it refers to) is shared across all Scour users, so the same video doesn’t need to be matched twice. This does not reveal who saved a video or any personal notes attached to it.
Stack sharing. If you generate a share link for one of your stacks, anyone with that link can view the restaurants in it. Nothing is shared publicly unless you choose to share it.
Service providers. We use Apple (authentication), Google Places (restaurant data), and Supabase (database and file storage) to operate Scour. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms; we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
We retain your account and saved content for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at help@scour.sg. Restaurant and video information that is shared across users (see above) may be retained after your account is deleted, since it is not personal to you.
Scour is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at help@scour.sg.
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
